Stock diverter valve leak? What does it sound like?

Its been over a week now with the new GIAC flash and I think it has finally adjusted. So I floored it going uphill with all of my windows down and I heard the turbo release in a high pitch squeek sounding like a blow off valve. Is this a sign of the crappy stock valves leaking? I know over time the stock valves will leak but is that what it sounds like or does the leak sound more subtle?

I have a pair of hyperboost valves ready to go in just haven't done it yet.

Occasionally, I get a backfire when I'm "on it" and then "off it" but I haven't experienced the sounds you are describing.

Are you referring to these valves:

Samco

EVO Motorsports

Ok I will need to try this again and see if I hear it again. I can't imagine a leak being that easy to hear when you've got exhaust, bypass pipes and filters

Those DV's are from EVOMS right? Im not sure if they are the same, mine are from stratmosphere.

One is Samco (the guys who make the trick silicone hoses) and the other is by EVOMS.

I'm attending Cars and Coffee in Irvine this Saturday. PM me if you'd like to compare "notes". I'm running OE DVs.

I'm just wondering if the bypass "exit" hose goes back to the airbox or turbo inlet. You shouldn't hear any leak per se if that's the case.
