Gas mileage way worse after mods?

For some reason I was under the impression that some of my mods would get me better gas mileage, at least thats what I think I've read on the board in various places. Even though logically I wouldn't have thought this. I always assumed more HP equals worse gas mileage, but because I read some threads that talk about improved mileage after certain mods I sort of expected it. What are the effects on gas guzzling from each of these mods?

Exhaust/mufflers?

Bypass pipes?

Ecu flash?

Filters?

DV's?

Plenum?

in a way some mods can help you get better gas mileage - free'r flowing exhaust
filter, etc...
The problem is with most mods come more aggressive driving. High RPM's and fast acceleration to explore your mods/HP result in worse gas mileage

I absolutely agree. It makes sense. If my driving habits had stayed the same then I probably would've seen slightly better mileage. Unfortunately this hasn't been the case especially since I've done all of my mods within the last month it's been WOT all the time . Not to mention I live close to two tunnels...go figure.
