I am looking at an 08 Cayenne S that has ~4k on it. I have been doing some research on rennlist and see complaints with reliability. Does the 08 S model have any issues I should be aware of? Are there any specific areas on the vehicle I should be looking at?

 

When you see complaints - what years are you seeing these one? The 06's - current MY are pretty reliable. Remember we are a small pooling sample in which you should not base your data from. I have not had any problems with mine. IN fact that I thinking of ordering an 09 GTS. I have one for sale Not low mileage as I like to drive it.

Every Automobile will encounter issues. Some more than others but overall the 06's-08's have been pretty good to most people.

 

Build quality and lack of defects on my '08 Cayenne S have been comparable to my '05 997. Both are much better than my '01 Boxster which has been excellent. Only about 3K miles on the Cayenne so far, but the only problems have been ones I caused

 

Have driven ours almost 18k since delivery in October '07 and have had no problems.

Drove it in an autocross this past Sunday. What fun! Very impressive handling.

 

Look it up it (edmunds,consumers and all that junk) ranked among the best! Dont worry do it! : )
