Woo Hoo! 2009s Are on the Boat
I just got word that my 2009 GTS has already been built and was loaded onto the shipping vessel on 6/13 (uh-oh...Friday the 13th). Prior to this, all I knew was a confirmed build date between 6/1 and 6/30. The official on-sale date of the 2009 U.S. models is July 14. Looks like I'll be very close to that.
I'll post pics when I get it, so the "Nordic Gold Haters" can make rude comments about my lack of taste and childish need for attention (OK, the last part may be true).
And just to incur the wrath of the anti-wood faction (I've seen your posts), I'm replacing the aluminum trim with the full Tequipment light olive gloss wood package (including center console grab handles). Of course, I imagine there would be no shortage of wood when I'm in my new GTS, even if I kept the stock aluminum trim
.
I ordered the beige interior and just didn't like the way it looked with either the aluminum trim or carbon fiber. And body-color trim would have been too out-there in Nordic Gold. So I now have a bunch of trim pieces in the garage, waiting for their new home.
I may have mentioned it before, but I highly recommend Sunset Porsche in Oregon for parts and accessories. I ordered a bunch of stuff from those guys and the prices and customer service can't be beat.
