Thumbs up Best Cayenne GTS Test Drive ever, Sort of..-Circle Porsche, Long Beach CA (PDCC FTW)

Preface 1: Not that any of this really happened in the streets in Long Beach but if it were to happen like this I'm sure one may of been convinced to order PDCC.

Let me preface (2) this story by the fact I found out on Friday that my car was never ordered for reasons I will post later next week when I find out the true story. That being said.....

"If" someone stopped by Circle Porsche today, perhaps earlier this afternoon they may have experienced the best A/B comparison for why to get PDCC and Full leather vs no PDCC.

As most of you Cayenne folks know I was already sold on the GTS (and thought I had one on order....) but was still unsold on whether or not the PDCC was worth the additional cost.

So back to my "fictional" story about today. Taking turns-pedal to the floor on the first GTS w/o PDCC the GTS held really with no issue but the GTS rolled heavily to each side. Not bad enough where I couldn't live with out PDCC but noticeably enough that the next drive I "may have" been able to push nearly twice as hard and the only issue was the grip of the tires.

PDCC is well worth it in my opinion. Chuck...you were right, once again.

Also saw the full leather for the first time. Must have. Anyone who orders the car with out it is nuts. It makes the interior 100x more attractive then the death by cheap plastic that is stock.

In other news I am now crossing over to the white side. Yes...I have abandoned the Black with Havana and gone to White with Havana and full leather. After having a black car for 1 year I have come to grips with the fact I need something new. After seeing the GTS in white I was sold.

Anyways to wrap up the longest post I have ever had.

If someone were to go on the best test drive, sort of @ Circle Porsche in Long beach then that person may of been sold today on PDCC.

Thanks to this person who was in the car with me and my girl...if you exist

Lastly, it was "sort of" the best test drive ever because I didn't get to check how well the brakes work, although this never happened at all, or did it.

Order from Circle Porsche!!!

STAY AWAY FROM RUSNAK PORSCHE for Sales!!!! Service is still spot on.

okay buddy, i think you should stop ordering a custom GTS and look for a one that is already in the states, go to porschedealer.com and find your car, call them, pay the deposit, go pick it up, easier and faster...

Who was this apparent sales person you encountered? Sounds like everyone should order cars from him

Completely agree on the leather bit!

WRT PDCC, while I think it's a great option, how often does one really push a Cayenne in the corners? I know I have my other cars to do that with. Still, if it came with my car, I wouldn't complain.

Thx for the review. BTW, did you play with PCM 3.0?

that's the best way to go when time is of concern.
I remember when I was ordering. I was told it would be 3 months to get the one I wanted EXACTLY if ordered, so I just searched all invetory, and found one already on the boat getting to port in Alabama, and I choose that one. I missed out on my Pano roof, but every other option was there, and I didn't have to wait but a week.

waiting is such a pain in the *** for a instant gratification society. no waiting for me.

There's enough GTS inventory around that I would think you should be able to find something close. However, since you want an '09 (which I would want as well) your dealer may be unwilling or unable to give up what is necessary to successfully trade for what you want. Are you locked into that dealer? Is he large enough to have some trading power? Are the '09's showing up yet on dealer inventory if you search through the Porsche consumer website? If so you my be able to make a deal yourself at a different dealer that has what you want if your dealer can't put a trade together to get it for you.

Thats what I am debating about. Although I drive pretty spirited how many times am I actually going to enjoy PDCC.
Basically how often do I want to risk a major ticket

I will never track the car. Ever. The car still held great w/o PDCC as I said...
we'll see.

09's don't get to the West coast till next week. No playing with 3.0 yet.

with or without PDCC the car is wonderful, but in my eyes ther eis a night/day difference day even with normal driving.
The car even when changing lanes, and making 90 degree turns (not racing) is noticeably different.
Don't sweat about having it vs not having it, it's a great option and I wouldn't buy one without it, but you won't be disappointed if you can't get one with it.

no debating in my head, but everyone will have their own opinion.

Damn you!!! Why'd you have to go an post those vids. I was at peace with myself about not needing it, now I'm going through buyer's remorse for not getting it.

Good luck on your search there, Bullzy.
