Cayenne Pulling Closed Trailer Recommendations Part 2
Chapter 2:
The time has come I HAVE to get rid of my open aluminum trailer, not even a year old, and go to a closed one ... and have been fighting trying not to have to buy a different tow vehicle in addition to my daily driver being a Cayenne S.
I thought I decided on a 22' Featherlite but with the height and wind issues I am considering a lower profile Tailex which would pull better with the Cayenne ... any thoughts on these two trailers???
Thanks ...

I have a garage at my track, so probably no more than 6 short (3 hr. round trip) trips and likely a couple of 250 - 300 mile trips (one way) a year with maybe one long trip, say from NC to FL a year.
Trailex is the only way to go if towing with an SUV. I would not even think about a 22" box trailer.
I have a Trailex that I tow with a MB GL 320 diesel and it tows great. V nose and less than 2000 lbs empty.
Get an extra 6 inches of height and you can almost stand inside the trailex making it easier to move around. Tire rack inside is also a cool option.

Thanks for the input wb ... the 22' Featherlite also has a "V" nose and I like the fact you can stand up in it for sure. I have friends with both and naturally each thinks their's is the best. The problem with the taller Featherlite is wind effect either from the side ... hence the tail wagging the dog (dog being the Cayenne) ... and the added wind drag from a fuel economy standpoint ... so if I go with the Trailex I probably would not get the extra 6" to save on both those points. In addition to the tire rack they now also offer an in floor tool box which is fairly sizable.
Even though I would love to stand up, especially with a bad back, with the big side bay door and the 2 front doors you really don't have to get in that much other than to get the car in and out. Unless really convinced otherwise I'll probably go w/ the Trailex ... out weighs having to buy a pick-up to haul a larger one and the Cayenne is my daily driver and I really can't drive the pick-up as a daily driver.
