hey guys, i searched and found a few people using the aftermarket tow hitches. i just wanted some recent input from those who may have installed it with either good or bad results. i need to tow my 996tt to the track 3 times a year and will not have any other reason to tow. thanks in advance,

I have a 05 Cayenne and I used the Curt MFG hitch with the Porsche factory wire loom and computer from Sunset Porsche.
The set up works great……(and I think it looks better that the factory hitch…..The safety chain loop hang down way to low)
It tows about 5,000 lbs no problem (102” X 20’ HD open flat bed trailer and a 1973 VW Thing)

The two negative things about the Curt MFG hitch. First you loose the factory tow hook threads (behind the bumper cover) not a big deal because if you ever need to tow or be towed you can use the hitch. Second there is no place to mount the trailer wire plug. (I had to weld a bracket on)
