Cayenne Turbo Airfilters
Anyone changed theirs yet ? Received BMC filters from Fabspeed and having difficulty getting covers off. Driver side I can't get at the hose clamp on the hose and can't remove electrical connector and on the passenger side there is a different kind of electrical connector that I can't figure out how to remove. Anyone have any ideas!
John got this from a guy who did his S...
It was kind of like solving a rubix cube...really not that bad. All you need to do is remove the protective plastic cowling stuff on the sides and the strips in front of the engine. The fastening screws pop out with a 90 degree turn using a dime works best. Remove the side ones first. Then the front ones. On the left side, you will need to remove the hex screw that holds the window washer fluid filling point. Once the covers are off, you will see the air boxes with the fastening clips just pop them off. In order to get to the filters and remove the airbox covers, you need to unplug the air sensor plugs. After that I found it easiest to unscrew the metal clamps that hold the flexible part of the hose the the airboxes. You can then pull out the flexible hose and the airbox covers will come off. Now you have access to the filter. Pull out the asthma like paper panel filter and replace with the BMC's. Re assemble and your done. Those plastic cowling screws just pop in when you press them in. They will lock, no need to use a dime. The whole process only took me 30 to 45 minutes. I consider myself as average in mechanical apptitude and it was not to bad although intimidating when I first looked at it. Go for it, it's worth it.
