1) Just brainstorming here...but maybe you can find an old PCM 2.1 laying around on Ebay, Craigslist, or at a dealer. You can get NAV that way, and get bluetooth, Ipod, and Sirius/XM via a NAV-TV unit.

2) Another thing you can do is find a high-end car audio dealer and put in your own aftermarket Nav unit like an Alpine or Pioneer. Since you don't have any PCM, that's probably what I'd do.

Also, JL Audio makes a stealth 10" W6 subwoofer that fits in the rear-driver's side side panel. An amp can be placed underneath the spare tire where the Bose ported sub was located (if you have one). In my 08 GTS, I kept the PCM 2.1, added NAV-TV, bluetooth, Sirius, subwoofer and amp, and bass **** under the steering wheel. Sounds pretty good. Now, it would sound WAY better if I got rid of the crummy PCM, and replaced the speakers, but that'll be for another day.

Aftermarket double din unit for sure. There are a lot of good ones with all the toys.

skier,
do you lose control of the steering wheel controls if you go aftermarket headunit?

Not sure about the Cayenne, but in my old X5 I ripped out the Nav unit and put in a Double Din Alpine unit. An extra accessory was steering wheel control, so it fairly likely it will work on a Cayenne as well.

For most pioneer units you have to buy a product from Soundgate its about $350.. it allows the fiber optic cable to plug into the pioneer. Not sure they make one for all brands.

Talking 2008 Cayenne GTS with no PCM - Thinking Alpine

I have an '08 Cayenne GTS with no PCM. Does have the Bose surround sound though. I have ben looking in to a new Alpine unit, #505, which is 2 DIN with NAV, CD/DVD, touch screen, blue tooth for phone, sirius radio, ipod connectivity and is supposed to work with the steering wheel controls. (I am also going to install a rear camera and the Escort Passport 9500ci radar/laser detector/shifter at the same time.) My installer (Abt Elevtronics in Chicago) says I need a new amp for this to all work. They are suggesting Alpine PDX5, 5 channel amp. (The existing Bose is 8 I think.) What does anyone think of my proposed path? What do you think about the amp that is being sugested. I have never used Abt before, but they supposedly have a lot fo experience with Porsche, so that is why I went over there. Any comments or suggestions whatsoever? Anyone now what the install should run on any of that? THANK YOU!

Definitely go 09 and save yourself the headache. You can save a ton these days if you find one with the right options.
