Evolution MotorSports unleashes Porsche Cayenne Turbo and GTS

The Cayenne Turbo’s ECU gets fiddled with, which effects in a leap of either 65hp/86lb-ft (48kW/116Nm) or 70hp/93lb-ft (52kW/126Nm), relying on whether it’s fed with 91 or 93 octane fuel. Adding the EVOMS V-Flow air induction system increments power by 82 or 91hp (61/68kW), and 103 or 110lb-ft (139/149Nm) of torque, which once again rests on on the Octane rating of the fuel. Pricing for the software tune solely is $3,500, while the V-Flow intake will cost $695.

Coming to the Cayenne GTS, a equivalent procedure was set about, but the profits are considerably slighter. Base tunes bear either 19 or 21hp (14/15kW) and 22 or 25lb-ft (30/34Nm) of torque, while supplementing with the unique intake system polishes the gain to 27hp or 29hp (20/21kW) and 29 or 31lb-ft (39/42Nm) of torque. The GTS kit is more affordable at just $1,800 for the ECU tuning and the same $695 for the intake.

Components which can optionally be attached are a sport exhaust, intake plenum, custom aerodynamic parts and wheels by Techart, and the shop’s own EVOMS carbon components.

Is the tuning catered to other add-ons like exhaust, or is it the same tune?

do you think you could get better mpg with the ecu upgrade and intake?

^ i've heard yes, but depends on how you drive it of course. it'd be a minimal improvement, and only at partial throttle.

i'd love to drive a CGTS with EVO intake/ecu and some sort of exhaust/bypass.

In theory yes, but in real world the mpg's are the same.

Maybe sweet but inefficient. There is no reason for any tuning company to produce a supercharger system for cayenne since the ctt is on the market.

but then, why did they produce a supercharger for the 997 if the 997tt was on the market? I could think of a couple of reasons for a supercharger, (1) better than getting a turbo or turbo s for 100K+, (2) constant power throughout the rpm band, no turbo lag. (3) give the tuning companies a little challenge in making a upgrade that could blow away a turbo or turbo s.

It's all about price differences and depreciation rates. There is a significant larger price difference between the price of a 997s compared to a 997tt and the price of a cayenne compared to a ctt. Thats part, secondly you have to consider the fact that cayennes have a much larger depreciation rate than 997's.

At this point I would say gas milage is less only because I cant stop putting my foot down. Next time I fill up I'll reset everything and report back the milage for the tank.

but if you can afford a vehicle that is 75k+ does the current depreciation rates really matter? ps i buy cars to drive the hell out of them dont forget about your old post "Maybe sweet but inefficient. There is no reason for any tuning company to produce a supercharger system for cayenne since the ctt is on the market." I was just replying to your question, and i really dont think tuning companies care about the depreciation rate for your vehicles.

I would expect the market for Cayenne SC is smaller than 997. Fewer sales = less interest for tuners.

As for lag, exhaust/ECU will eliminate much of the lag in a CTT.

that maybe so, but you have to put into consideration that the cayenne is Porsche's top selling model.
