So far the answer is no. Some of them aren't even aware that you can do that.. Euro laws are different and sometimes safety features are left out all together.

Someone should buy one and send it to China to be knocked off. The price is highway robbery, and just stinks of greed. In business, every time I'm involved in pricing a product, there comes a point where greed kicks in, it's the ability to realize when that's happening to you, that separates the men from the boys.

I'd have priced this thing between $199 and $299. Expensive enough that us "snobs" won't think it a piece of junk, but inexpensive enough that we realize it's a product with shortcomings, and without actual electronics behind it. Acknowledge the issues with the module, keep a low price, sell hundreds and move on.

There's still a chance for this guy to salvage this product. He needs to price it lower than the lowering links, though.
