Cool Hoping someone can tell me....

I have an 08 Q7, 3.6, and want to purchase the Solo-Technology lowering module. The site states how "easy" it is to use and I can see that. However, they are absolutely brutal and communicating back with emails.... I have sent them 3 emails to no return, and naturally I am cautious of sending my $600 there.

Here is my question, and I would APPRECIATE any insight whatsoever.

* In regards to the module they are selling for $599. Is that all I need? Is it compatible with every type of Q7, or do I need an "option" that might not be there, therefor rendering the part useless when it arrives. There was talk of it connecting at the passenger seat - I could not see any sort of port or plug in there.

Solo-tech, offer more in-depth info on your site and you just might move some more product.

Thanks guys!

Brent

Wow, just read through all the 20 pages. I am looking forward to get my CTT and try with a switch. Hope that the people got their refunds.

i can confirm that the 9ff units are replaceable drop links - and NOT an ECU/piggyback module.

They work great and maybe cost $20 to make.

Considering how well they work (better than the modules) they are priced decently at $450, but $700? poor euro/dollar pair!

I think i saw a company making some generic links for $150 a few years back....

Would like to know too how the ride is with links. Some people don't like it saying that it is too harsh.

Was the dash error msg issue every solved ?

yeah, I know... a little late to the party...

So, was there ever a solution to this issue when pulling or switching around those wires ? I'd really like to use my MainMenu. Which, BTW is odd for me since I have a Fire Extinguisher down there; and yes, I've got Nav

Alpine_997

Did you even discover which, of the 3 wires, needs to be bypass'd ?

I know this is late, but I'm a newer owner/member who is interested in this; however, wants to just disconnect the 1 wire to determine if its for me. If so, I'll just wire a switch down next to the air-hose plug. I'm outta warranty, so no issues there.

It seems that my wires vary from the 09's GTS/Turbo so far. Out of the three wires there are only two that you would need. I will check on my switch tomorrow and let everyone know the part numbers once I can confirm it will work.

My wires are as follows:

Three Yellow Wires - Yellow/Blue - Yellow Solid - Yellow Black. The yellow wires end with a Male Molex Type End which plugs into a female receiver that contains three wires that are Black/Green/Red.

My wires are located behind the DVD panel under the passenger seat. It is the only set of wires that I could locate. The Yellow/Blue and Yellow/Black are the two wires that matters for the switch/override.

It is a simple on/off switch that can be placed in the same panel area as the vent controls behind the porsche plate above the ashtray.

There are a few good modules out there but for what they do I felt the price did not justify the end result. To some it would be worth it and for that I say have at it I don't drive with it lowered all the time due to the change in geometry of the alignment. But its nice to have it low from time to time when I want. Having to buy the $2500-$3000 module and perhaps paying another $150.00 to have the service shop program it was not worth it to me for the times I would want the use of it.

H&R sells a more tweakable lowering control module which lets you fine tune lowering heights to all 4 wheels. I think it regulates the voltage to raise/lower the car. The TechArt Module doesn't allow for that. They have the Alarm Arming/Lower it down to loading level feature but thats not a big deal to me.

Its too simple not to try it out.

This mod is simple, less than $50 for the switch and remains factory.

I hope to get an answer on the right switches tomorrow and then present a DIY by next week.

As far as the wires mine are Brown/Yellow Stripe, Brown Solid and Black.

Exclamation Point ?

Also, does that Exclamation Point on the dash stay light the entire time ? I realize the 'Menu' isn't obtainable, but not sure I can see that '!' all day long.
