Is it possible to play MP3 DVD-Rs with PCM 3.0? As you know we can only play MP3 CDRs with the PCM 2.1..., not DVDs

No you can't use a DVD to play MP3's.

I was referring to the new PCM. They told me no. They also told me the new PCM is tied to the VIN so therefore swapping out to PCM 3 will be impossible or very difficult. There are some people working on it right now. I would rather pay a little more for OEM integration than to get aftermarket.

 

Yes, you can in the new 2009 models; I inserted a DVD-R loaded with 5.5GB of MP3's. You need to press scan to load all the music folders before browsing them; but once scanned is simply great. I can post pictures if you need.

Cool - dumb techs I have to correct them now. DVD's do play MP3's.

 

now I feel like I should upgrade to new PCM...

 

easiest way is to hope someone demolishes their vehicle but the PCM survives. It is expensive.
