Brake Workshop Message?

I guess I am in need of some new pads but I was just curious before I bought the pads and rotors if there is any special tools needed for this. Also do the sensor for the brake pads have to be replaced? I am just used to most brake jobs like corvettes so I just wanted to make sure I have everything I need before I start thanks in advance. Also any ideas on brake pads aftermarket or OEM? Thanks for your help.

Do a search on brake pads, there are plenty of threads on it.

I went with Hawk Ceramic Pads, virtually dustless compared to the OEM pads. You need to replace the sensors as well(got them form Suncoast)

good luck.

No special tools although a pair of needle nose pliers is always handy when pulling pins, the condition of your hardware may also cause those pins be be "rusted" in place if they were driven hard and put away wet.

I get my parts here:LINK

Sensors are set up to break once removed so yes, they need to be replaced with pads. I would also suggest replacing those old hardward kits and mounting bolts while you're there.

I have also heard that Hawk Ceramic are the way to go to avoid dust.

So how did things turn out? Let me know if you have any questions I can help with....

Also just for the record, PM me if you need more info on removing the calipers, you'll need a special tool for the job.....
