sorry to say but not happy with Tire Rack

I ordered wheels and tires for a Cayenne a week and a half ago. Everything confirmed and paid for, delivery arranged, booked appointment with fitter and 4 days later ( about when they should have arrived) your sales guy called me to say they over sold the wheels. Next stop was double the price I paid and I didn't even like them. Not happy.

Sounds like a backorder you may have been waiting on? Sometimes we don't get as many in as we have ordered, forcing the people at the bottom of the list to either wait for the next shipment in or pick something else. We would not have billed you anything until the order shipped so I doubt you were billed.

PM your order number and I can look into if you want. Sorry about this.

Come on Damon, it always takes the first bit of snow to get the ball moving... then they get mad when everything is gone.

After I posted this, 19" rims for the 2011 Cayenne Turbo appeared on your site so ordered four. Just received the other day. Stock on our 2011 (at port now) are 21's so wanted to use 19s for winter.

I've heard that new n-spec Pirelli Scorpion winter tires will be available in about 10 days. Is this still the case?

Just ordered the 21" Pirelli Snow & Ice tires from Damon to be ready once my Cayenne arrives. Sounds like supply in certain sizes may be low this winter season. Order early!

Just in case you guys are wondering where we are. So far in most key Porsche sizes to make complete combos Michelin and Pirelli are no-shows. We are hammering them for anything they can give us. How bad is it so far? Take a look:

996 Porsche narrowbody:

We have 205/50 and 225/45 17, but NO 255/40 17 rears. At all.

996 Porsche Widebody:

We have LM 60 in 225/265 and 275 (265 won't fit factory 11" wheels) 18", but nothing else matching. Dunlop Michelin and Pirelli are no-shows. 235/40 can be used but not ideal.

987 Boxster:

We have 235/50 17 N rated, but no 205/55 17 to match them.
We have 265/35 18, but no matching 225/40 18 to match them.

Cayman:

We have no matching 235/265 18 combos in stock or confirmed.
We have 235/50 17 N rated, but no 205/55 17 to match them.

997 Carrera:

We have a few 255/45 17 Dunlops, but no 215/50's in to match them.
We have 265/40 18 Pirelli and Michelin, but no 235/40 to match them.
We have no 235/265 19" Pirelli yet.

Cayenne:

255/55 18 Lat. Alpin N1 is mid November. Scorpion Ice and Snow is est. 9/30. No need to panic just yet on these.

This could be completely different by Thanksgiving, and we hope it is. But for now it's the reality of where the industry is with regards to what they have decided to make this year. I'll keep everyone up to speed the best I can.

Will the 20" winters from my old '09 Turbo S fit my '11 Turbo? I bought 19" rims and Scorpions for my wife's '11 Cayenne Turbo from Tire Rack last year but would like to not have to buy another set for mine? I have PCCBs on the my '11.
