this is good news for Europe. I'm also from europe and diesel is lot cheaper than unleaded gasoline and more efficient. This will be a hot seller in short time..

It is not the first Porsche with a Diesel....and here in europe (germany) you see a lot Audi TT or BMW 3-series cabrios with diesel engines. The first ones will be in feburay at the dealers and I think you must wait quickly one year or longer for one.

If you wanna drive cheaper by a VW...

I've been driving some Audi's with the V6 diesel and my conclusions are:
- good to drive on highways but not on nice curving roads
- no fun to drive, just bring you from point A to B
- put the radio to hide the (tractor) sound

Question of choice but on my side I never had fun driving diesel's

Diesel? yeks! I'm not a fan of it. It is slower than a gasoline engine and FRI287 was right when you drive on a highways it is not nice in curving roads.

I would have expected at least the V10 5liters tdi from the Touareg R10, which would have been a minimum sportif

Well... what can i say.. i'd buy it.
I got an 08 Cayenne and i got a Golf TDI among others but we're talking about Cayenne and Diesel so yea.. what can i say.. now i'm driving the Cayenne since the prices of gas dropped below 1.70 but before.. economy of a diesel was amazing.

I've driven a couple of diesel cars and to be honest, their not as bad as most people think. I've driven a 530d, and it didnt sound like a tractor. It even handled like a petrol car. I'd understand that the older diesel cars would sound like that, but not these modern ones. And for bmw's, I read somewhere that the diesel version of their cars are even faster/more powerful than the gas equivalent.
