I did break a hole in the box, but it is sealed off. The air tube connection has the broken piece attached to it. I lined that up with the break and sealed the seams. I'm planning on doing the EVOMS kit soon so I don't think I'll replace the box. I drove ~600 miles these past couple days and it's still just how I left it.

Well I'm assuming you were talking about the entire airbox removal, and also, it is not necessary to remove the entire wheel lining, even if you are removing the airboxes. One could probably even pull the lining back far enough even with the wheels on.
