Stupid Question: How do I check tranny fluid level w/o raising car?

I just had an independent shop change my oil and filter and now a couple days later my transmission sounds like it has rocks in it. Before I take it to the dealer I want to make sure they didn't accidentally drain my transmission and refilled it with the wrong stuff.....

Is there a way to check the level of the fluid and what color should it be? I have not been able to locate a dipstick and I am also not getting any MFD messages. I don't want to be told I'm not covered by warranty (3rd party warranty) because someone else screwed up big time. Only other explanation is that it's coincidental.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh I have an 04 CS

Chris

as far as i know tranny fluid is greenish, only if my memory serves me right..

Instead of waiting to see what's going to happen by yourself, just bring it back to that independent shop and ask them to replicate all the steps that they've followed during the process, you'll probably notice the wrong step if there is any. If they did so, just ask them to refill the tranny with the tranny fluid, don't just go to your dealer and ask them to check what's wrong. My two cents..

Thank you. Yeah that's what I wanted to do first before going to the dealer. If they did indeed drain it, what is the proper transmission fluid for the Tiptronic S?

Is there any way I can check the levels myself?

Thank you,
Chris
