lostarizonan is infamous around these parts
Bullonwallst-

I don't think this is a regular problem, just a problem with the mechanic screwing up the installation after his repair job.

I personally would be livid if they wanted to charge me for labor to fix this issue.

It is a VERY common problem. So common, that theys should have at least checked the drain tubes. ( CPO dealership )

From my side of the desk, I find that alot of clients disregard the suggested annual service of the sun roof, ( Clean worm gears, clean sun roof tracks, clean sun roof drains, etc ) until something like the OP happens.

With the OP, he had just purchased the vehicle, so it falls back on the selling dealer / previous owner.

I think he stated that the dealership informed him that the drains were clogged, causing them to back up and over flow. ( Not ANYTHING to do with replacing an in dash a/c control panel ) Would be impossible to clog or dislodge the tube during that repair.

Yeah, it had nothing to do with the AC unit. It was clogged drains. They charged me one hour labor to fix. What pisses me off is that according to them this is not part of the CPO inspection they do to to the car and is part of "regular maintenance" However, I don't see anything on the owners manual.

So basically you have to be physcic about inspecting the drain tubes or wait for them to overflow inside your car before you learn about them.
