CD changer for Cayenne.. help please

Can I buy any cd changer for the cayenne. I hate, HATE, that I can either have a cd or nav disc in at one time and not at the same time. What a stupid design flaw!

Anyways, can I buy any type of changer. I just want to walk into Best Buy (have a gift cert) and pick up something cheap.

Hoping I can get a response from you guys before I get there. I'll be checking in on my iphone from the store, so PLEASE get me some info!

Thank you fellow 6speeders!

Bojan

BUMP.. can I install an aftermarket plug & play changer to the car? If so.. what brand? I've researched, can't find an answer.

I don't know if you can use an aftermarket changer or not, but my dealer referred me to a local car stereo shop they work with. The shop called me back when another Porsche owner replaced his factory changer - they charged me 1/3 of what the dealer wanted for a new changer. My 08 Cayenne was prewired so it was a simple 15-minute install. You might want to try calling around some of the high-end stereo shops in your area.

Good luck!

The sales people at Best Buy should know... though it is a question that needs a proper answer, so they likely don't

You cannot use an aftermarket changer without a special connector. There may be some type of aftermarket connector that can allow you to do this, but you'll need to track that down first as all CD changers use proprietary plugs.

You can get a Porsche changer on eBay for ~$200, though it's not very good.

As for the iPhone thing, you should get a better phone

+1

Odds are you should be able to find a changer cheap. Most people are upgrading to Ipod adapters and lose their changer use with some kits.
