Check coolant level...

2 days ago, I got the check coolant level message on the dash and topped it up with 10oz water, and the alarm cleared itself. Today, I got the same message again, what do you guys think the reason could be?

I am not trying to be a smart-*** but I would guess your coolant level is low. I assume you have checked the level?

A 10 oz top-off is not very much so you could easily still be low. Otherwise, it could be leak somewhere (tank, hose, connection, etc.), loss due to overflow, a faulty sensor, or a number of other things.

If you need much more coolant, you should probably top-off with a Porsche-approved coolant rather than distilled water.

the thing is, engine cooling system works in a closed circuit, so, the water has nowhere to go unless there is a leak somewhere in the system. I'm worried about that... Today, I topped it up with almost a gallon of coolant from Shell...

Does Shell offer a coolant that is compatible with Porsche engines??? I thought that was a dealer only item like my Audi and VW was (G12 coolant only)?

a coolant is a coolant as long as it is liquid, has anti-freeze in it and formulated to not to cause any corrosion, it should be fine. Dealer suggested me to top it up with purified water, but considering the fact that it's 2 degrees outside, I instead put the Shell coolant..

That's not what the warning label on my coolant reservoir bottle said on my Audi's!!!

They explicitly said do not mix with non G12 coolant. Not sure if Porsche is the same way.

Not even close. That is like saying oil is all the same. Or all gasoline is the same.

brought it in 2 days ago,

got ripped $196 just for flushing the radiator and filling new P-approved coolant...

They checked everything for a leak, pressure tested etc. but they said they couldn't replicate the problem..

The service manager told me that it's normal to lose some amount of coolant over time as it goes out of exhaust (!!???)...

Whatever
