It is illegal to have all clear in the side markers, but truthfully it is doubtful that a police officer would ever see that they are illegal. The side markers aren't turn signals and are only on when you switch your parking lights on.

Clear bulb is best IMO. It'll match the running light in the headlamp. It is legal (at least MI) to have amber or white in the front. Stock 911 parking lamps are "white"

I believe we all agree that the clear markers are the way to go, but I prefer the amber bulb (instead of white/normal bulb) with the clear markers because it is easier to see when changing lanes or turning. White light gets lost with the other light(s) as well as it is not as easy to see in day light.

Go for it. It's legal. White or amber legal in front.

I care what cops would do, as a person who's on the borderline for his license to be suspended... (11 out of 12 possible points accumulated).. one more ticket, and i'm done

i recently had an accident and officer said it's nobody's fault so he didn't give neither party a ticket. today, I received a statement from my insurance company saying that I have 11 points, with the 3 points that I got from that accident. So, here's the question, do I really get points when I involve in an accident even though it's not my fault?

I have the clear markers with the clear bulbs, no problems. IMO it gives it a cleaner look.

I just wish the sidemarkers were turn signals as well from the factory. That would be slick.

is it possible to make those markers blink with the other turn signals and stay on for the rest of the time?

Canberk, it is possible and I did do this on my 1999 996 but apparently on the Cayenne it causes a warning for a bulb out condition for the turn signal when you wire it up.

I believe there is a write up on this on Renntech.

Maybe if you use a LED for the existing turn signal bulb and a regular bulb for the side markers it can work without a bulb out warning, as long as the two bulbs equal the wattage of the original turn signal.
