I just got my clear markers installed and I gave the guy the box came from suncoast porsche, and turned out that they also included orange lamps with the side markers, and the guy installed the orange lamps. The markers itself are clear, with orange lamps in it. Is it the same for you? Or do you have the lamp clear as well?

i think in wa. state it is illegal to have clear bulbs in the side markers. i have the clear markers with amber bulbs. they were included with the set. i did have the clear with the clear lights but i changed them.

they come with oranges lamps because I think you are required to have orange light for side markers but stock light are clear because the marker is orange its self.

what if I replace the amber lamps with the clear ones? Will I get ticketed for that? I don't think officers will notice it...

I thought about doing that to mine, but decided against it. I have plenty of illegal stuff on my car already, I don't need something else that they can pull me over with.
I like the soft amber look with the clear lenses and the amber bulb, but you can do the white bulb if you want.
personally I thought it made the car a little "ricey".
Might as well just get those blue lights for the hood. kidding.

I dont know if its illegal using clear lamps, but I have it in my car and quite a few people in LA have it too. Never get stop by police whatsoever.

If you got a ticket I would be shocked. The stock lamp it comes with is yellowish and I really don't even want that on there, I took the light out on my cl500 with clear lenses.

As others have said - USA DOT Law - must have amber lights.

It's legal is California to have clear side markers, but the lights themselves must illuminate amber.
