My father wants me to pay for all the damage with my pocket money, so I dont think I will be able to afford the Gemballa hood.. how much do stock hoods cost and how much are gemballa hoods??

U mean hood or bumber but anways there is a big difference. Stock bumper is probably around 600 and gemballa hood is around 3200

I have experience on the receiving end of a rear ending.

On a high end car like your CS, you'll need new front bumper cover, as well as a new metal bumper & foam core behind the bumper cover. Possibly a new skid plate.

I'm taking an educated guess here: $3K - that's if your radiator & other hardware is OK.

Edit: forgot about the hood - an extra $1500 - $2K.

FYI, my uncle rear ended someone @ 15 mph in his S-class....it cost over $8K just for his car!!

Dood that totally sucks. It is always better to over brake than under brake. Lesson learned. Good advice from Jamy on the downshifting too. Those buttons are just a few inches from your thumbs.

As for the age vs insurance vs bad situation....don't ***** about it. You are young and fortunate enough to be driving around a Cayenne S. If you can't afford to fix it, you can't afford the car. And I am sure this is not the case.

I know it sucks, but it can be fixed and no one was hurt. This is always key. Money can't fix scars or restore life.

Make the best of the situation and learn from your mistake. Get Dad to send you to a Porsche Club Drivers Ed event and learn the dynamics of your Cayenne and what a panic stop and panic lane change and stop is like.

Ok you can get out fairly cheap if your smart. **** happens now deal with it. The s bumper cover can be had off ebay for 220 shipped. I spoke with the company and can get you their info. Next I saw a turbo hood on ebay for 375. I think gemballa was selling it for someone who upgraded, I'm sure they have more. Any help I can provide in tracking this stuff down let me know. I know what its like to be young and priviledged and also to mess up something that the folks refuse to fix.

Cayenneman, it's not necessarily the parts that make a repair so expensive - although Porsche parts are notoriously pricey. It always seems like body shop labor & paint is twice as much as it should cost.

CayenneS - the foam insert helps absorb the energy from low speed impacts. It's what makes "5mph" bumpers possible with little to no damage.
