General First. Gen Cayenne Questions

Hey guys, it looks like I will be going for a 2004 MY Cayenne S as it fits in my budget. In any case, what are some general things I should look out for when looking for a Cayenne? Any major problems/issues I should know about? Thanks,

I've heard bad reviews on MY 2003/04.....but I've heard Porsche addressed most of their issues on 2005/06.

every car has its own merits.
for example i have/had 2 cayenne's
my 2004 cayenne S was trouble free (totally)
my 2005 cayenne turbo has had lots of (small niggles) both well cared for examples
i dont think the early cars were any worse...there is an argument that first production cars are always going to be "better" as more care is lavished on them from the factory...as the cars get established, the "care" fades somewhat (complancancy?)
you pays your money and you takes your chance......

Reality = no quality complaints with the 05s to speak of. Lots of minor gremlin complaints with the 04's (that I have seen over and over). However, if you get an 04 with a production date of late 03 or early 04 forward, you should be fine. The 04's with the mid 03 production dates seem to have the electrical gremlins and the anti-freeze pipe problem (2 pipes on the back of the engine rot through and the repair is about $3500 at an independent).

. . . . . .and that's all I have to say about that (in my best gump)
