phone prep retrofit?

a friend has bought a cayenne S 2004 on my recomendation, and seems very happy with it, although it is lacking in the "extras" dept.
he has sat nav, but no phone facility? the little drawer is there to insert the sim card (bellow the key pad numbers) but the display says phone is not available.

can he get a retro fit done? or is this not a simple opperation?
i presume with sat nav he has microphone/speakers etc, is it just a case of getting it activated/coded at a dealer or does he have to buy some sort of phone module?

thanks guys, ill pass any info on to him, and get him to join up here.

Twincharge is infamous around these parts
I know a phone handset, phone module and associated looms are required. Im not sure it would be worth the cost. It may work out better to obtain the parts from a porsche breaker?

i dont have a phone handset in my car? i just pop the sim card in and dial using the key pad? everything appears on the sat nav screen, and goes through the cars speakers, the mic is up next to the button to turn off the PDC, thats how my text service works also.
is yours not the same?

I've never been able to get mine to work, the drawer is stuck for a start, and the handset in the center armrest never seems to power up.

thats the message he is getting, so i presume its not phone enabled/supported

how do we overcome this ? is it already hard wired or does he need to buy modules harness's etc ?
he said the sim card tray is there below the key pad (just press the black oblong)
