chainged speedo dials for gambella ones

yesterday we chainged the dials in my friends turbo for the gambella ones in silver (to match his silver/grey interior)
but there are subtle differences
can you spot them?
2 are quite major.
it was a 15 min job to take the clocks out of the car, and a 2 min job to change the dial foil over.
easy.

he has a brand new white set (unopened) for sale , not gambella, just white with grey numerals, and not foil but a high grade plastic, very professional.
pm me for details.

do you take the instrument cowl off to get at the cluster?

Wow... 15 minutes to do the whole job?

The only difference I see is the oil and water temperature.

yes the top cowl has to be "lifted up" or taken off, its 2 torx bolts at the top on the instrument cluster, and 1 at the very back (top)
it could not be easier.

i used 1 flat screwdriver and 1x 20 torx. 15 mins tops.

the differences are
engine temp and water temp are now in F instead of C (as you spotted)
the hand brake symbol is different now saying "BRAKE" instead of the round brake symbol.
now reads ABS instead of the ABS symbol
different low tyre pressure symbol
difflock symbol is different.
the needles are a different colour also (now red instead of orange)

there is one problem on the car that has been changed from S cluster to Turbo cluster (we have done 3 cars this weekend)(2 turbo's & 1 S)

when before mark selected "miles to go to empty" in the comsumption menu it would always stay there when he turned the engine off (ie: when he restarted the car it would return to that setting)
now, it returns to the speed (av mph) setting every time, its only 1 push of the button to get back to miles to go, but it is a glitch non the less.
no issues with the air suspension etc, everything working.

on the 2 turbo cars it was a bit more straight forward as it was just the foil that was changed for the gemballa ones.

it was the S car that had the compleate cluster changed and had white foil put in in place of the booring black.
it has made all 3 cars look much fresher.
very simple job but if im honist a bit expensive for a bit of foil.

i thought gemballa also had full metric versions so the temp would still be centigrade?

so for just the foil swap - remove cowl; remove cluster and presumably unplug a few modules; unscrew and remove the silver trim cover; pull needles and apply new foil?

yep, thats excatly it.
just 2 connectors on the rear
it has transformed the interior, and looks cool now.
not sure if they do a "full" metric version?
i ordered brushed alloy/silver in MPH and this is what i got. but its no biggie, i can cope with the C/F thing

cost was £289 plus tax.
the white dials my friend mark bought from a company on ebay for his conversion from S to turbo cluster are better quality than the gemballa ones, the white ones are not foil, they are a flexable plastic, and very well made, and were a perfect fit/function.
(he still has 1 set for sale at £150)

Can you post some pictures with it installed in your Cayenne? Maybe showing the matching silver trim. I am also considering this mod. Thanks in advance.

Hi There, I have the gemballa face and I want to restore back to the original face.
How difficult is it to remove the gauge dials? What tool do I need?
I have tried using two spoons on an older dashboard that is not working and the dial broke.

Looks like you have done a great job, so any assistance will be much appreciated!
