I need to upgrade my unit from level a to level b. Can anyone help me? What i need is pcm 2.1 multimedia update cd cayenne part number 000.043.205.47.002.

Level b is the level which a pcm 2.1 unit can be upgraded in order to use the latest dvd maps.

 

SLP, Will you tell us how this is done and how much?

 

you'll require the upgrade disc, which is inserted into the audio cd slot of your pcm and you accept the notice up front and then it'll upgrade your software

after upgrading, you'll require a new navigation dvd--as your old one wont work anymore.

for example, on my 05 cayenne i had the 05 or 10.2005 version i believe and it would no longer read after my upgrade, and then i got the 10.2006 version and all was well.

i know a couple people who've done it on 997's...thats as best as i know though so you could always double check with a dealer about the 2.1 upgrade

but it sucks cause waste money for nothing...

 

indeed 500 euros has no logic at all. With this amount you buy the best standalone navi system.

No, oddly the update disc does not come with the nav discs--its something Porsche charges you to do--which is unfortunate because it takes only 10 mins to self update w the correct disc.
