Fresh Outside Air from Vents ?
Fresh Outside Air from Vents ?
Is there any way to get fresh unheated and/or uncooled air from the vents?
If I press the Econ button to shut off the A/C compressor and turn the temp setting to its lowest value, it still pumps out heated air from the vents - even with an outside temp of 70-75° F..
Am I missing something, or is this just a fact of life with this car?

I have the same issue.
which button are you hitting to select fresh air? i noticed that when i have the "A" (auto) button on, that i'll start to fog up after a bit of driving. i'm wondering if the auto function is not working?
i've since toggled through either button until no button is lit, to get fresh air. i've only figured that out recently, so i can't vouch for the hotness or coldness of the air. but this summer, it did seem like without air conditioning on (econ mode), the vents blew hot air constantly with the temp set to cold. especially when the engine was warmed up.

No lights on the recirc button. Still warm air. It's probably due to the air intake being located under the back edge of the engine hood. Probably no way to keep engine heat out of there.
Appears to be the way that it is. Poor design, imnsho.
agree, poor design. you should be able to get fresh air from outside into the cabin, at near the outside temp. i wonder if this is due to the tight engine bay? or the sheer heat the engine puts out. i notice massive amounts of heat emminating from the front of the car after i've parked it and walk around the car. much more than most other cars.
