new ower...2006 Cayenne S

Hello,

Last Thursday, I picked up an 06 S. It took a while to find one with low miles but the more I learn, the more I like!

Got the oportunity to crawl underneath over the weekend and concluded that these vehicles are pretty well thought out and pretty well built.

Prior to me picking up, coolant light lit...end result was complete upgrade of coolant pipes to metal. I had thought that 06 already had these but was pleasantly suprised to know for sure that the upgrade took place.

Fred

It was built around Jul/Aug of 06.

This car was an add...other daily driver is 330ci. The BMW is less "bouncy" but you feel everything on the road. I worry much less about speed bumps and parking lot stops than in my 330. Cornering wise, cayenne appears flatter but that is only because I tend to drive it like an old lady (not quite used to sitting up so high). Mileage wise, no surprises...330 is around 17 in town, cayenne is looking like 14 or 15. Hwy, 330 can do 32 with sensible driving (70-80), I HOPE that cayenne can do 21 at 65-70 (might be dreaming on this).

mine was built in Oct of 06, probably has the plastic pipe instead of the aluminum pipe, shoot, why in da hell Porsche didn't upgrade this from the factory? counting the fact they already knew about this issue...

Well, keep your warranty fingers crossed. The coolant pipes appear to fail like clockwork!

Mind asking how many miles you got on CS?

Mine has 39k miles as of yesterday and 17 months left before the factory warranty expires.
