Question Mod Junky!! Links to Cayenne Turbo mods please?

I'm a hardcore motor head and thinking about picking up a CTT. Problem is, I will never just "leave it alone".

I have been doing lots of research and see tons of cool modified Cayennes but don't see lots of information on those mods, links, companies etc.

What are some of your favorite mods? Links?

Thanks.

bypass pipes, evoms intake, evoms ecu tune. You'll be close to 550hp with these.

Fabspeed.com for the bypass pipes.
APR has some stuff goapr.com
Some of the vendors here have stuff as well - GMP, Revo, FVD, GIAC to name a few

Thanks guys.

Question for you.

Why is the flash so expensive for the CTT? Is there something special about it? Complicated? Or is it just that they figure you can pay it so why not charge more?

I've built other German cars and several other customs. Most flashes seem to run from $300-800ish depending on the car. I'm seeing $2,000-$3,200 ish for the CTT.

Welcome to the world of Porsche... I came from highly modified VW and Audi cars and realized the same mods from the same vendors cost significantly more for a Porsche.

Must depend on the car. I have had some highly modified Audis and VWs and a couple of older Porsches. (928 and currently a 951 track car).

I could understand when these things were new, but as they drop in value they are coming into a different market group. Especially with something like a computer flash.

I can understand producing a limited number of custom hard parts. But a computer flash?

You would think that would be the case... but I have had a 2000 Passat Variant and 2002 Audi Avant that were very highly modified (Magazine feature cars) and cost half as much to build up than my 1999 Porsche 996 and now Cayenne. I seriously think it is the Porsche label. Good example is the VW Touareg versus the Cayenne... same parts but much cheaper from VW. Why?

I bought byass pipes, haven't put them on yet. Next is a GIAC reflash, still on the fence about the EVOMS intakes. Not sure how much pick up in power they'll give.

Regarding the EVOMS intakes....I didn't do them for the power, but the sound is worth the price of admission to me. The air coming in to the engine under throttle, and the releasing of pressure when you let off under boost gets addicting. I need to upgrade diverter valves now before I wear these out

Yeah my next trip out to the track I'm considering swapping them in and out to see the difference.

the EVOMs intake are a 'must-do' IMO. You'll get much improved throttle response and maybe 15hp gain. I've had mine for a month now and love it.
If you have an older CTT, make sure you change your diverter valves; especially if you have a flash.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I will get the intakes when I do the reflash. I will wait until I am out of warranty to do the diverter valves unless they are for some reason easier to do with the intakes out.

Anyone have a GIAC flash on an '08+?

Thumbs up Objective

Cole

What is your objective with the mods. How far do you want to go. What power output are you looking for. A build on one can yield some serious power. What are your thoughts?
