I hate the center console layout, too busy for my taste, and it would be a nightmare if you happen to be dropping a cup of coffee there.....

I couldn't agree more. My daughter knows that the ONLY 'food' allowed in the car is a bottle of water. And thankfully the wife agrees. Otherwise I'll admit that Rule #2 be pushed to Rule #3, and the new Rule #2 is: "check with the wife"

I used to be like that,,, no eating/drinking in my car, period. But I've been thinking.... life is short, things can be replaced, getting dirty or break stuff can be cleaned or fixed.

I like the new steering wheel though compared to triangular shaped ones

My neighbor dropped a cup of coffee on the center console of his Jaguar XFR while on the freeway. The car literally shut down.

$2800 later it's back up and running!

As for the new cayenne...it doesn't grab me immediately but I'm sure I'll come around to like it. The back end really looks terrible in my opinion, which is my favorite part of the current model. The new interior is awesome and the headlights too. I would definitely delete the model designation if ordering...looks really tacky with all those letters cramped onto the back.

I keep seeing the RX350 when looking at some of the photos. meh

I remember vividly that was one of the concerns people had with the recessed gear knock in the Jag. They said that the electronics are "coffee proof" and should remain operational even after you drop your coffee.

Knowing the nightmare of the 1st generation of Cayenne MY 2003, I wouldn't even consider buying the 1st year model.
