temp gauge moves

hey guys
On My 06 Turbo S the temp gauges moves from 180 to about 220 after about 30mins + of regular driving. wondering if other turbo peppers do the same thing or i might have air in the system.
After driving for awhile even in 30 degree weather..truck seems to run very hot. i will notice the temp gauge moving when i'm at stop and go traffic and idle but it does go back down it never pass 220-230 degree.
At idle it will go down normal and then go back up and go back down in 10 mins.
i don't recall truck acting like that last year. now since the weather got warmer it seems to act like that every time i drive.
i heard that turbo peppers run hot and if driven hard it can goes up abit but my is doing it almost every time.
thanks in advance for any input.

I would check your waterpump. Notice any leaks from the car? Tomorrow morning when you start it listen under the hood for a louder than normal whistle

They are very common to go. Depending on your mileage you may have already replaced it once.

or coolant pipes. They have been a known issue on the 955 Cayennes.

Correct. Along with the engine itself being prone to drinking coolant. Always keep an eye on the level in the reservoir. I'm sure it will always need to be topped off
