The mod that increase 40 plus miles per tank to my Cayenne.
These are my 2 future mods Evoms Intakes and ECU reflash.
I just installed my intakes today, I love the sound of the turbos. I haven't noticed too much of an increase in mileage since I did the bypass pipes, but hopefully I will. I plan on doing the GIAC reflash soon. Hopefully I'll have the same added bonus of regular mileage.
Either way, notice the 3rd pic in RXporsche post above, welding the steel arms onto to the bypass pipes prevents rattling of the pipes when you slow down. Even using Fabspeed this s highly recommended to avoid rattle. Great Job! I went back and had steel rods welded to eliminate the rattle. Annoying...
Can somebody analyze the data?
But that's what I am forced to live with if I want to keep my warranty. [BTW, that CPO came in real handy recently as one of my NAV computers went out. Part alone is $1,700!
]This is what I think is the result of "over regulation." {OK, now it is in the realm of politics & policy.
} I think those faceless bureaucrats do not consider everything. For instance, I have long suspected that emissions have been based on something(s) other than miles-driven. Probably upon consumption at idle or low speed rather than energy and production (distance travelled). I don't think I am making myself very clear AND if anybody (engineering type) can enlighten me, please chime in.

It seems as though Porsche as an auto maker must produce a vehicle with the lowest emissions but not necessarily with the lowest emissions per mile. It really saddens me that to get the most efficiency requires after market parts and tuning.
If there was one draw back to the CT, it is the lack of range. During my last drive up the Alcan Highway, I had to resort to using my spare gas can on several occassions.

I'd love Porsche to make the fuel tank larger. It would behoove them in a cruiser and possible cross country traveler like the CT to make it a 600 mile per tank SUV.
Recently, Porsche cars were ranked Number One for reliability & dependability; however, those days appear to be fast passing. The fees associated with repairs & maintenance are tantamount to highway robbery. While I really like my SUV, I doubt I'll ever buy another Porsche.
I like to maintain my cars and do a lot of preventative maintainence. However, when I asked about flushing my SUV's automatic transmission fluid, I was shocked to get a quote of $700!
And greater expense.I used to flush my Avalon every 70-80 miles at a cost of $80. But my P-dealer tells me my CT requires special fluids that cost that much a unit!
I am not too happy with the way the oil is in my CT. At only 1800 miles it looked dirty. Maybe that is the effects of Alaskan winter. Also, they recommend only 5,000 miles for oil changes--far more often than in the lower 48, but the oil does get dirtier.
The dealer thinks my poor gas mileage may be due to our impoverished 90-octane Chevron that is oxygenated during winter.

Again, I experienced reduce MPG with my Toyota in Phoenix when we ran oxygenated fuels. And AGAIN, I think the bean counting federal regulators look only at emissions in a limited way. While the emissions appear to be reduced, they fail to take into account that it takes 20% to 100% more gas to travel the same distance. Hence, their regulations may have unintended consequences of MORE smog.
What kind of relationship do you have with your dealer??
My warranty was NOT voided with all these mods....My dealership actually installed the EVOMS intakes/ Turbo S intercoolers and they do GIAC flashes at the dealership.
Recently had my coolant pipes replaced right before my warranty ran out......guess its time for the EVOMS 800 kit, now that im naked...

Something is definitely up with your car...... you should be getting MUCH MUCH better MPG......

The dealer service center says they have a hard enough time keeping track of factory specs and in the past they've always been burned by installing mods. Furthermore, even though the Anchorage I/M (emissions) program is going by the wayside, they can not remove the cats without riosk of losing their certification as an I/M testing center.
Anchorage air quality was much improved years ago and the I/M program was going to end but our liberal city assembly voted to keep up their IMHO fraudulent program. I guess it was to keep jobs because someone who works for the municipality has to porcess the I/M certificates. NOW, however, the assembly claims that they do not want to risk being found "out of compliance" with the EPA and no one knows how to properly end the I/M program that is a waste of money and is absolutely not needed.
Hmmm . . . EVOMS 800 kit??? I believe it it a 700GT kit.

I'm wondering about these as well. While the dealer was vague about effects on warranty, he was specific in that he didn't want to hear about mods. I'm wondering if this is another don't ask, don't tell?
