Thumbs down Don't buy this Cayenne!!

Just a public service post for anyone shopping or know someone shopping for a Cayenne Turbo.

Rocky Mountain Eurosport has the below Cayenne TT for sale. It's on ebay and some other sites. It lists the interior as "Excellent" condition. Which is flat out untrue.

This Cayenne was for sale at another local dealer before this one. I went to look at it TWICE just for a test drive. BOTH times they could not get it to start.

The carbon fiber wheel is broken, all the door trim pieces are broken, the shifter surround is delaminating, the shifter itself is THRASHED (someone with rough sharp rings must have been stroking it). The whole rear of the Cayenne is scratched to hell from what looks like a very large dog and the rear spare cover has mis-matched carpet.

NO SUNROOF and has a giant DVD player about to pull the headliner down.

Just thought I would share what I saw in person since it differs so greatly from what their web postings say and show. (notice the angle on all the interior pictures to hide the condition of the carbon fiber. If you look REALLY close you can see the big cracks in the steering wheel)

Updated with dealer site link.

I feel bad for the dealer a bit, but I doubt this thread will actually lose him a sale.

I don't. They have full opportunity for full disclosure. They are the ones choosing to lie about it's condition and go to the effort to only take pictures that hide the condition, not tell the truth.

They are even hiding the fact that it does not have a sunroof. At lest show a picture that let's people know this kind of stuff.

Instead they are highlighting how expensive the carbon fiber is. The carbon fiber that is broken and trashed.

I just don't want anyone to hop on a plane and show up to be dissapointed.

They are known for sub par repairs and flat out BS'ing......

They are a typical flip and ship car company. Cars with OBVIOUS paint work they will list as "No Paintwork". Be careful

I have no sympathy for dealers like this. It is their decision to sell this car, they should be honest and straight forward, it will yield better sales and more satisfied clientele which in turn will lead to referrals, but obviously this dealer is not concerned with "small" things like business ethics...

Seems so simple. Just tell the truth about the car. At least then the customer won't feel mislead and will send more business their way.

......and FWIW I stopped there about a week ago and had an interesting conversation with the head sales guy.

(it was pouring rain and I was on my motorcycle so I figured I would just get out of the rain real quick and look at the Cayennes they have for sale).

This is a condensed version of the conversation to make it easy to read.

Me: What do you want for that black 05 CTT?
Dealer: $47K

Me: Whoa....that seems high compared to others I have looked at.
Dealer:You get what you pay for!

Me: So what am I getting that justifys the price? That is $10-20K MORE than others I have seen listed.
Dealer: We go to the best auctions. By on the west coast, not the east.

Me:
Dealer: East coast cars are junk. Rust....blah...blah...

Me: (showing him my phone). Soooooo, what about this one in Texas with nearly the same miles and options for $20K less?
Dealer:......you get what you pay for.

Me: So you have owned all of these Cayennes since new, have all the records and know exactly what all they have been through.
Dealer:Well, no...but....um......ah.....we can keep an eye out on a deal for you.

Me: Great! I want an 04-06 CTT Black/black or Titanium/black....
Dealer: So....Silver or black. How about a Touareg?

Me:Not the same dude! CTT, Dark Grey or black!!
Dealer. Got it. Silver or black.

Me: No. Thank you.

It looks pretty rough just from the pictures and you can see the steering wheels issues with the carbon trim pieces.

Honestly, that one has issues, but it seems to be priced accordingly. I can understand if they wanted a few grand more, but a CTT for $34K with 57K is pretty good considering the trim issues.

No offense, I think you may be wanting a almost perfect used Cayenne CTT for Cayenne V6 prices.

Somehow I bet you would have taken it if it were $30K. I do not think you will find a CTT with <75K that is great shape for $32K, but I could be wrong. Good luck.

First off. My post was about misleading information on obvious cosmetic issues. Which would often make you wonder what other hidden issues it may have.

I seem to remember this cayenne having an accident history listed when it was listed by the previousl dealer. The current dealer is listing it without any previous accidents. Anyone have an open car fax account to check it? There is evidence of replaced parts on the outside too.

I never really complained about the price. I was posting the difference in condition as seen in person vs what the dealer was trying to present.

I have seen MUCH cleaner ones for the price.
