Lowering a porsche cayenne
Lowering a porsche cayenne
My 04 Cayenne currently has 22" rims on it and the wheel gap looks to big, so I am debating on lowering it a couple inches. Anybody lowered their cayenne please post pics so I can truly get a good idea of how it will look.
Cheers,
Cheers,
My 04 is on 24's and I went with coilovers cause springs don't make a noticeable difference. Check BC Racing for affordable coilovers, they're about 1/3 the price of K&W or Eibach. I got about a 3 inch drop out of them and the ride is like butter.
If you go with BC's , talk to Mike. he'll take care of you. I'll post more pics in another thread.

I agree with Loce - Don't waste your time with springs - Its the same labor and when your done you will eyes will struggle to see the 2 inches (at best) you just dropped it. I went with KW and dropped about 3 inches with lots more to go. There are 2 other options that are cheaper, but no guarantee of quality.
BC Racing - US distributor, will take about 10 days for him to get them: $1250 on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BC-Ra...Q5fAccessories
Kido (straight from the pac rim): $1500: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KIDO-...Q5fAccessories
Install and align was a same day deal for me @$500. Have your guys start the coilovers at their highest settings and then spin them down 1-2 inches.
Then take it for a ride. If it feels OK, drop it another inch. If that still feels Ok, then get adventurous. Lowering them after they are in the truck is not that hard thanks to gravity. Raising them is a major Biach and it def requires the vehicle to be in the air. After 2 months at 3" I think I am ready for another 1" - then again, I am on 20"s
. This was my favorite mod next to the Fabspeed exhuast. Screw the "sports button"!
Overall ride - Same smooth ride on the highway, bigger bumps are more jaring. Handling, well, lets say I am now at the limits of my 20" rubber and not the suspension. ZERO body roll. BTW - I set all the damper adjustments dead center.
Here are some recent pics (man am I behind on my posting - did not even add this to my peppa link
)
Here is a before KW pic - my god was it really that high? :

For scale, I stuck my kids old sidekick in the wheel well. I think this will help clear up how much I actually dropped it

Here is the KW kit (minus the wrench)

and now the slow review (pepper ready to pouch)

And the cheesy glam shots

Hope this helps !!
