09' Turbo S getting really bad gas mileage

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a 09' Turbo S and about 2 weeks ago, I brought my car in for the first annual service. After that, the car has been getting (frankly criminal) mileage. I always fill up the car with 94 octane from Chevron. PCM shows I've been averaging 36.4L/100KM (thats how we do it in Canada ) which apparently converts to 6.4 miles/US gallon. I wouldn't consider my right foot as the prime suspect because I haven't been driving the car that would resemble such an appalling mileage - although flexing my right foot can be extremely addictive. couple days ago I decided to see what kind of mileage I can get with extremely cautious driving and all I could manage was 26.4L/100KM (8.9 miles/gallon). Im wondering if this could be a potential symptom of any engine part failure. Are there any members in here who are getting about the same mileage?

Thanks in Advance,
John,

14 mpg is reasonable to expect for a daily driver

a little better if more highway time

a little worse if more city traffic

a lot worse if stoplight drag racing
