Anyone done a Torque Converter Pump seal replacement themselves?
Curious if anyone has done it.
"Technically" it should not be any harder than removing and replacing any other trans with a T-case on the back like any other 4x4.
From looking at some pictures of the trans and engine side I'm slightly baffled by how to remove/replace the torque converter bolts to the flex plate since there seems to be no access opening in the bell housing.
Is the TC just left hanging on the flex plate during remmoval/replacement? (would seem odd and easy to tear a seal).
Anyone have good pictures of this?

I believe my mechanic is doing this right now. As far as I know it involves a special tool that was extremely difficult to source from Porsche NA (dealership was authorized to sell a replacement tool only) at a cost of $450.
He said it has been quite the chore...

Hi Pearlwhites
Sorry to trouble you. I was reading some post and came across this one about working on torque converter seal on cayenne. I see that you are in NY, which shop did you use for the job? Approx cost? Thank you very much for your help.
I live in Brooklyn and do not know any shop experience in working on this and hope not to use porsche dealer.
Thanks Lou
