And personally I don't really think even paying more to get bulbs from ijdmtoy would really make huge a difference if any, unless their bulbs are manufactured differently? Both are smd's should be the same output. Unless someone can correct me? Fill us in on what you ended up finding.
That's my Cayenne. with the mounted spare tired on the back. So the factory rewired the lighting and placed the license plate holder on the bottom.

Yeah, I don't think going to ijdmtoy will make a difference. Oh well. At least it looks cool now.

Lexen Auto

I bought these a few months back and they just blew out. They don't last very long, as expected from the price.

Any recommendations on a better set of bulbs?

Mine are working fine so far so haven't had to look for better ones.. there was another forum user that posted something if I remember correctly so try using the search look for SMD/LED i think you might find something.

Bumping an old thread. Who supplies a LED license plate light these days that's a direct replacement? I tried several from the popular vendors, and none of them fit properly. What happens is that the light unit doesn't stay tight in the holder, and easily loses electrical connection. I need one that matches the stock bulb.

these use festoon bulbs right? if so, does anyone know how long they are? There are some 2W LED festoon bulbs on ebay that come in various sizes. I bought a 39mm and i'm hoping it fits..

Yes, Festoon bulbs. I tried 36X10mm, and it's just a bit too loose. I think 39mm might be too big, but let me know how it turns out. I'll probably try again at 37mm.

I installed the 37mm Festoon LED lights, and it was a perfect fit! Took 5 minutes to swap in these lights. It's so easy when you have the right size! All the vendors out there list 36mm as the size for the Cayenne, and I can tell you that doesn't work. 36mm is too short, and the light won't stay in the holder. You can buy any 37mm Festoon light. I got mine from Amazon.

There is no need to look for "Error Free" designation on license plate lights. The reason people get an error is because they use LED on a light that 'flashes"; e.g. turn signal light or brake light. If the light needs to flash, then you also need to replace the flasher unit when converting to LED.

There also no need to pay super high prices. SunCoast wants $60 for these lights (http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...newproductpage). That's ridiculous. If you paid over $10 I think you paid too much.
