New guy! '05 CTT. Pics, Questions...
So last week I picked up a 2005 CTT and cannot be happier with the purchase. It is everything I was hoping it would be an more! Coming from a heavily modded BMW I had set the bar pretty high but this thing has performed impressively well.
On the drive back from picking her up I became all too familiar with 0.8bars in highway trim and just this morning I met up with some car club friends and got to know her handling side as well. The fact that I was able to keep up with everything that was out there in the corners (modded E30's, coil over E39 M5, SC'd coilover E90 M3, early '90s 911) was impressive and on straight pulls I was quicker than my friend's E39 M5! The SC'd E90 M3 with 650hp laughed at us both...
So the specs;
- '05 CTT CPO'd
- Titanium on Black ("comfort" seats with full leather)
- Sat Radio
- Walnut Package
- Roll-up Screens
- 4-Zone AC
- Light/Comfort Package
- Compass Display
- 6-disc, etc.
I thought it had the Advanced Off-Road package because it has the button for it but from getting under it and the fact that the button doesn't engage the rear diff nor do the sway bars disengage it does not. I'm not sure why it has the button though.
Like Ii said I LOVE the truck and look forward to talking with everyone on here in the future!

Got one just like it but fully loaded. Maintenance and warranty repairs have been a ***** though--averages $1,000 a month!
Heck, this is the most practical of Porsches.
Folks really live watching me autocross the beast because they say I am going so fast they don't think I can stop for the corners but I do everytime--well, almost. ;-)
The Advanced Off Road Package is rare but does add weight to the beast. Yes, I have it and only saw one other Cayenne optioned with it.
Look up your VIN and get it decoded--that will tell you how it optioned.
Congrats.

Thanks! Looking forward to some goods times with it!
I have pretty much the same truck as you. I have three mods ... bypass pipes, clear front markers, and the factory rear wheel spacers for the 19" wheels (same ones as you). Makes the wheels look pretty good. I luv the truck!!!

is your cat bypass something similar to what sharkwerks is currently promoting? i'm really interested in what they are offering and would like to have more feedback from those who has it or something similar.

I have the Fabspped bypass pipes with no hangers. The Sharkwerks ones have the hangers and look well made. I would have probably bought the Sharkwerk ones as the hangers are the way to do it. They do sound awesome!
Great purchase! The CTT looks great!
Let me know when you're ready to start some upgrades! I see that you came over from the BMW community and have now graduated to Porsches! We'll make sure to take care of you!

I do not have a Cayenne, but I have been reading a lot about the 04 turbo and that option/function to disengage the roll bar while offroad.
So - you may not have tried this considering it's new to you, but you MUST be in low range gearing first before that feature will commence.
(I've owned a VW Touareg V10 with both locking center and rear diffs as well as a few newer Land Rovers also with similar locking center and rear diffs)
I cannot imagine you would have the button with a light at the ready if it is not installed. Let us know though, I'm looking at a couple CTT and that feature is very important to me.
