Test drove the pana 4S and Cayenne Turbo Today
Test drove a pana4S with sports chrono, and a 2011 Turbo, didnt want to get spoiled with the pana turbo so skipped that one. Frankly neither vehicles wowed me. Especially the cayenne turbo, which i drove after the pana 4s felt slower than the 4S, and its no where near the dynamics or acceleration feel of 911, which my neighbor lend me last weekend. He has the base model, non s and non all wheel drive. The Cayenne turbo had the 20 inch wheels, pdcc and pvt, but for come reason the tires slipped and broke loose twice during turns, and bodyroll is fairly noticeable. My cayenne S with 21inch GTS wheels felt stickier.
The pana 4S was quick, but not FAST. Definitely felt more secure than the Cayenne Turbo but again not close to the driving dynamics of the 911. Overall both cars were quick and have great interior but neither i felt was worth their 125k sticker price.

I test drove a CTT with PVT and PDCC today
Currently have 2010 C4S and there is no comparison.
The CTT is an amazing feat.. it really is. The thing is blistering fast. I would say maybe even faster than my C4s. On highways it can easily get away from you (the speed that is). On my test drive, I looked down and I was doing 115. I was totally shocked because the CTT really does buffer the speed from you.
This is good and bad.. it's great for a highway commute as it's a wonderfully smooth ride.. but as soon as you get into the turns, the C4S just blows it away in terms of road feel. I tried all modes.. comfort, sport, sport+ on the suspension as well as sport on the transmission.
I was hoping to have the best of both worlds (awesome tight performance and smooth highway commute). The CTT definitely excels on the supple ride for the commute but physics just can't be defied in the turns.
Hard to explain but the C4S you really have no fear - you can take just about any situation.
Probably to be expected but I left the dealership not feeling "I have to get that car/truck" which is what I felt the first time I drove a 911.

Handling: not as good as my CS with 21 inch summer tires. Could be im just not used to turbo, but the tires it had on were no good.
Acceleration: Quicker but not night and day difference, probably because my CS sounds like a Nascar. and the turbo is quiet in comparison.
Interior: Blows away the old cayenne interior
exterior: Front looks better, back looks softer. The car looks smaller overall but its actually bigger. I dont think the stance is aggressive looking compared to let's a x5m.
i just read on Porsche's website that the turbo is a 4.4 0-60 second car, I do remember this figure but thought it was from some car magazine where they always pull these unrealistic acceleration numbers. That's insanely fast for a suv this size and it sure did not feel like it's faster than the pana 4s (4.8) or the 911 carrera 4S (4.5)
I just read an article on xoutpost.com a x5m owner was complaining about his X5m with 555 horse power felt slower than his 750i. Which is about a half second slower and and alot less horses. People say its becuase the x5m is too isolated and you are sitting up so high therefore dont feel the speed. I have to say my old 540i felt quicker the the cayenne turbo, then the question is , if it doesnt feel fast, whats the point of 500 horse power suv?
Although I agree that there's no point for a superfast SUV, the market demands it, thus BMW and Porsche are glad to sell their X6M, X5M, and Cayenne Turbo.
It's also pointless to have all season tires on the turbo, but again, that's what the majority of the suburban mall shoppers would get.

Your in a suv that is taller so it will feel much slower than a PanS which is low to the ground.
I had a 08 GTS and bought a 08 CTT, the CTT is lights out faster. I have a V box and could get 4.9 0-60 every time in my CTT in 90+ degree days. That is a stock 08 CTT with 22's on it.
I suggest you bring the cars to a track or get a V-box to see how off your butt dyno is.
I would rather be fast and not feel it than feel fast and be slow.

I have an '09 CTTS. I lowered it and put fabspeed exhaust on it and it sounds like a different vehicle. I also have a 2000 M5 with a full Dinan S2 conversion. Both are blazingly fast (for big vehicles) but the feel is drastically different.
I've driven a Pan S and while it was a great drive it felt considerably slower than my CTTS.
I think it is very difficult to compare. Even with a lowered CTTS, you're sitting up high in a 5000 lb vehicle.
