towing with steel spring suspension
towing with steel spring suspension
I am trying to figure out how much tongue weight I can load without it showing? I have had around 300 lbs in the cargo area and I did not notice any sag but was wondering how much sag would be present at full loading? I do realize that cargo load is different than tongue weight due to the moment arm. If i get more than an inch of sag, I will probably opt for overloads or air bags for my coil springs.
This is a question for those w/o air suspension that have personal experience. Thanks guys.

Hey Fred.
Here is my CS with steel springs. I used to tow my boat with my CS. The boat had a 300 lb tongue weight. The picture shows the CS loaded in the back with two large suitcases, two cases of water, a case of beer and assorted stuff. I put my cooler in the boat. I took this picture this summer. There is a slight drop. I hope this helps.
Unfortunately I had to sell my boat. I miss my boat.

Last summer pic loaded the same way.
