i think just for the front plates alone on that 350z, i got 4 tickets - it's the inconvenience though.. show up in downtown, show them the picture that i have the plates in the front, they dismiss the ticket, but i got to pay the court fees.. i don't know if it's because of the car (and color? it was lemans orange).. i learned how to watch out for cops in my routes to work and back but for the plates, some cops just would pull me over :-(

unfortunately i wrecked the Z and my wife banned me from having a sports car.. never had a ticket since (either i got very, very careful, or i'm just lucky -- for now)

Quote: I have not had a ticket in a while, but when I do get stopped they have never mentioned the front plates (I don’t have them). I did test the LI again to make sure it was working. I used to get hit all the time on 610 with laser... now with the LI the V1 never goes off..... Figures

I am going the LI for the Cayenne as well, but i wanted to test it out first.
Try the "BLINDER" LI. I always put em on my sportbikes, they are the original and the best.

Mr. Haney,

The cops can't catch you anyways :-) by the time they look to find what was speeding, you are already gone

True- but sometimes you have a lady on the back or your just sick of running. There are only certain instances where you can run, and need to be quick on the draw. Metro runs pretty deep in Vegas. Hell, for long time I never even ran a plate or insurance because I never stopped

In texas the popo's use a LOT of laser. For my vehicle you cant beat the BLINDER®.

would you get a penalty if you skip renewing for insurance (even if just getting the basic/liability coverage?)

spinny - just got the cayenne back from them.. kind of so-so. they did the inspection (to check the current state/shape of the cayenne - kind of a pre-purchase inspection, but since i bought it already, is there such a thing as post-purchase? can't return this bad boy now.. once you say "i do" your option is only "divorce" which - will cost you more)

i have scheduled for the 40k service, replace spark plugs and flush brake fluids

what other shops do you go to?

Markenstein 3D,

Was this the 06 TTS at Superior Leasing? I was in Dallas on business last Friday and went a took a look at that one. I thought it was a nice vehicle. Good luck with it.

Quote: You're looking at a very expensive brake service soon. Your brakes are beefier than the other models and cost more but they are needed with that extra performance.
How much?

I cant remember the exact amount but i think the dealer said the brakes are going to be 1000-1200? i could be mistaking it with my 48,000 check up soon to come. 957 tt.

3D,

I usually go to the Service Center @ Porsche West. The one at 59@ bltw 8 is not bad as well. They are both owned by Sonic (as is every car dealership in town...)

My old boss awalys took his P-Cars to :

Eurocar-Werk
5103 Gulfton St
Houston, TX 77081
(713) 661-6428

I have never tried them yet, but i am sure thinking about it now.

I bought a 2003 996 TT x50 in Dallas @ Park Place Porsche, by far the best experience and nicest shop of ANY dealership. My next car will be from them. Just not worth the drive for reg maint.

rbb1991 - yes.. this was the one.. they priced it way below the other Turbo S in the market - was hoping i can get it down some more, but there's really no comparison.. my wife said i was crazy driving all the way up north just to get the price - the other TURBO that's on the market here in Houston were priced 2,500 less only - so i took the risk and so far (drove it back here in houston), so good..

i may need new brake pads - the rotors seems to be ok...

i got an extended warranty from united car care for 3,040 (5 yrs/75k miles) so that should take care of anything outside of the regular wear-and-tear stuff

i'll research on Eurocar-Werk and see.. dealerships that i've asked for pricing charges $1000+ for the sparkplugs and 40k miles maintenance (not sure if this include the brake-flush but i doubt it)..

Warranty price sounds pretty good.

Do you mind sharing what you paid for the CTTS?
