Hi all -

I have an '08 CS that my wife primarily drives. I'd like to use it to tow my 911 to the track about 5-6 times a year. My mechanic suggested it might not be the best idea, given the extra wear on transmission / drivetrain components.

How many of you have put your Cayennes through rigorous tow duty, and is there any precautionary tales you would have? I should also add that I have the factory tow package, and plan on installing a brake controller.

Thanks in advance for any insight you have to offer. I couldn't find a satisfactory answer in search, BTW...

 

I tow with mine. (Turbo). The tow rating is around 7,700lbs. This trailer and car are around 5,000 lbs. Pulls, turns and stops it just fine.

 

have you felt any stress on the transmission components? broken anything? how long have you been towing with it? nice setup by the way...

 

It tows very well. Never feels stressed. As long as you are under the tow rating it should work just fine.

Mine has 80k kn it now. No idea how many total towing miles. Fwiw i just auto crossed the CTT yesterday and it still shifts well after the abuse.
