Buying Used Cayenne

I'm new this so thank you in advanced.

I'm wanting to buy a used Cayenne budget is btn 22-33K

1. Are there any used years I should steer clear off?

2. What issues or inquires should I be aware of checking out used Cayennes?

3. Warranties, are there any after dealer ones worth the investment?

Thanks

First, go buy a copy of this month's "Excellence" magazine, B&N carries it. It has a very detailed article on buying used Cayennes, this will save you a ton of time searching through tons of posts and allow you to hone in on what you are really interested in.

Second, there seems to be, and I may be wrong, as sweet spot in 2006 S models in the low 30s with <40-50k miles on them. I think as they sold the 2006 in 2007 as well there may be a bunch of lease returns????

You can search for CPO vehicles on the Porsche web site too.

2006 was first decent year but again, go to rennlist too, they have a sticky note at top of Cayenne forum listing know issues..

Coolant tubes, pencil coils, and cardan shaft........about 5k total to have handy if these have never been done, and most become an issue around 40k plus miles.

Thanks everyone. Yes I was told not to get 03-04. However there are a few sweet 04 Turbo's with around 50K miles that I've looked at. One of which they replaced the coolant lines on the car. The original ones were plastic and they changed them to copper.

So in short should I steer clear of 04 Turbos?

Cord. Couldn't find the sticky note. Could you link it for me please.

Also what are best tires for snow. I plan on taking it to the mtns to our cabin frequently.

Thanks

I can't see what the difference is between the 06 and 04 models (as long as the upgraded coolant pipes have been looked after) they both suffer from the same issues. All of which were mentioned in the posts above.

Copper is a brilliant idea... I settled for aluminum.

Don't plan on much backing with the Porsche CPO. Mine has been denied many times. Porsche makes a better vehicle but their business model leaves much to be desired. AND if you get one with a Porsche CPO go over it with a fine toothed comb BEFORE you accept it because Porsche of North America will deny every claim possible--from my experience.
