HELP!!! DIY Air Filter install for Cayenne Turbo?

does anyone know how to install the aftermarket air filters for a cayenne turbo?

I see the spring clips on the top but something is holding the rest of the housing on the bottom.

I found a DIY at renntech, but it's for the Cayenne S. The piping on the turbo is different since the S' intake goes directly to the throttle body.

help!

There are 2 clips AND a pipe low behind the the box left side where you cant see. They are push on buggers and very tight pictures on my rennlist gallery

Hey mudman2,

thanks, but your diy was the one I saw on renntech. It doesn't apply to the turbos since the airfilter lid drops down to the turbos and then from the intercooler up to the throttle body.

on the NA cayennes, the piping goes from filter directly to the throttle body.

The best way is to just dive in. That's what I did with my S. I plan to do my CT when it warms up around here. Should be rather straight forward using minimal mechanical common sense. The only issues I can imagine are tight working quarters...

trust me, they're a *****. I called Sam at Speed Gallery last night to ask him how and he told me "good luck, they're really difficult unlike the NA cayennes." they require 1 hour of labor and are a huge nightmare to access any of the mounting scres that hold the lid in place.

I think I definitly have a lot of mechanical apptitude, but the points where you'd think you would need to loosen to pull the unit apart, you find screws that are upside down and only accessable in you didn't have an engine at all.

Ohhh man, I must be underestimating the situation. Maybe it will help to jack the front of the car up too, to get better access to area's you can't see from up top...I just luv a challenge!!!

Rockitman, I called the dealer and this is what i got. not as bad as I anticipated. It was because Porsche has these crazy grooved torx pins that I've never encountered before. Why they couldn't just use regular torx screws to hold it? who knows...

anyways, I wrote a DIY for you on renntech.org
here's the link...
