that time of the month again...

we just hit 9200 miles and like clockwork the oil light came on as it does every 1k miles. time for at least another quart - but that's "normal". can't wait for this tramp to get menopause.

Ben, I've had 3 911 Turbos now and they all have used a lot of oil. A quart every 1000-1500 miles, depending on the car. Porsche has always said it's normal for a Turbo. Don't ask me why.

Just hit 5000 on my CT. Had to add 1/2 qt at 4300. That is normal oil consumption, imo or I am just lucky...

thanks kurt. i wouldn't bother me as much if it really was normal, but posts like rocketman's tell me it isn't. there was a turbo oil eating poll someone conducted and only 25% of the respondents reported 1qt/1k or greater. that's therefore not normal IMO. same goes for our excessive tire wear. no one thus far has ever reported being at the wear bars at 6k and i'd venture to say ours was driven much more conservatively than most. so, neither is that "normal". hell, the dealer even said 10-12k is normal but then in the same breath said my 6k was!

amazing that a dealer could think that we buyers of such cars are that stupid.
