Rear Hatch Unlock

Hi,

when pulling into parking garages they want to open the rear hatch and inspect the cargo area.

I'm finding that I have to open the front door (after unlocking the doors) for the attendant to open the rear hatch. Unlocking the doors alone without physically opening the front drivers door will not allow the attendant to open the rear hatch. Any ideas?

you need to lift the trunk open button on the left for one second, it will unlock the trunk.

Guys, thanks for the feedback but neither option helped. I have an '06 TTS with entry drive - so no need for the key.

I'm going back to the manual but I don't seem to have a trunk button to lift and holding down the unlock button doesn't seem to work. for clarity - i'm trying to do this from the driver seat with the car running. sounds dumb but i need to put the car in park and open the drivers door before the trunk unlocks.

so, I RTFM and was reminded that there is a Tail Gate Option under the comfort settings/doors. The manual also indicated that the Tail Gate Option must be selected for it to work with the central locking system and it's been so long since I've been in this part of the menu scheme that I thought maybe it wasn't selected - but it was.

Also tried using the remote control and still the tail gate didn't option. Guess I'll tap my CPO coverage and see what the dealer has to say. Thanks for the feedback.

End of the story - dealer said he reprogrammed my remote. I can now pull up to a garage, not put in park or open the front door, simply press the unlock button on the armrest (twice) and the tailgate is unlocked allowing for inspection in the cargo area. Thanks for the attempts at help (and the video attempts at humor) Cheers
