Pls Help Old Man Build Track S/WifeDD
You don't use the actual keyfob to start the car, that can stay in your pocket. There is a plastic keylike piece that goes into the ignition that apparently doesn't need to come out of the car at all. You turn that to start and stop the car (the car can only be started if the keyfob is within range). A bit different from the BMW and Lexus implementations I've used in the past, but something that once you have, you don't want to go without.
Laugh at it all you want but I agree with that statement. There's something about not having to fumble with one's key fob (in the cold weather) that takes over. One feels properly (for a change) "entitled." After all, what did we pay for it? $995 and more.
Thanks to all who have posted here. I did my build Thursday and confirmed today for an April delivery. Abandoned budget all together. It wasn't a cash squeeze issue as much as the fact that it was simply more than we had ever considered spending on a vehicle. So kids get about 10 grand less each at our deaths and we enjoy more of what was earned and saved over 40 years.
I posted details of the build how's and why's on a new thread. Not sure how boards work, please have patience.

thanks Jason. For the M3 I liked the big valley from Pineville to Jenkins. But any good river bottom would do- even up around Morehead. Over by buthcher holler running around Paintsville and Inez was a lot of fun. I like it around Elkhorn City and Grundy. A challenging drive was from Cumberland over the mountains to Applalachia. For Jeeping around, my wife"s kin built the first cabin in Perry County (still standing) so I like it north of Hazard.
It is all so stunningly beautiful. Now I live much further south so enjoy the sesquahatchie (spelling?) valley in Tenn. across cumberlands over to Sneedsville and then on up to US77 along VA 61, especially along the bottom below the north face of the Clinch mountains. Ancient applachian homesteads and twisties, twisties, twisties. What's not to like?

Congrats on the final build. The only option I would say you are missing is the alcantara headliner. Not a necessity, but really adds a nice touch.
I actually live in Prestonsburg, and was born in Paintsville. Left for 12 years for college, grad school, residency. Then came back. Some really fun roads.
Again, congrats! Look forward to pics.
