Do you get anything near surround-like sound with the base speakers (with PCM headunit) off a regular studio MP3? Big step up if I upgrade to Bose?

I've been in enough Ford rental cars to konw how bad, bad could get but hoping the stock is pretty decent ... since that's another $2,000 I should use elsewhere!

I don't listen at very loud levels but just want quality, surroundish sound

 

I wouldn't say it's surround-like, but the PCM with the base speakers sound pretty good to my ears.

I originally spec'd the Bose, but changed it after a couple weeks. I don't regret it one bit.
